The Krewe of Red Beans shares our physical headquarters with tenant organizations and other great projects that align with our mission. Having such a large physical space (classroom, craft room, warehouse, garden, and event space) gives us a lot of possibilities for programming.

Feed the Second Line (FTSL)

Our Sister Organization, Feed The Second Line was born out of COVID-19. Their focus is in three areas for our city’s culture: A “healthy culture” – Job Opportunities for Culture Bearers – and a stronger Safety Net for New Orleans culture.

Their work focuses on these three core areas:

Safety-Net: During COVID-19 FTSL helped purchase groceries for elders (while creating jobs). After Hurricane Ida –  “Get Lit Stay Lit” launched to create solar powered Micro-Grids on restaurants

Job Opportunities: FTSL hires culture bearers to perform, to help with events and community-relief work (like hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.).

Healthy-Culture: FTSL is working on developing kids’ programming and adult programs to help our culture bearers.
